Spotlight on Javier López Barbosa

Mark White

It's been a sensationally busy few weeks here at the gallery; not only is summer our most active time of year for visitors and art collectors, but we also hosted an opening reception for sculptor jd Hansen (more on her later!!) and painter Javier L. Barbosa, whose dynamically colored, energetic abstractions have garnered attention for years.

Javier was born in Mexico, but he's lived here in Santa Fe for decades. It's great fun to examine his bright, bold colors in context of where he's from!

When considered within the context of Mexico's dramatic architecture and bold colors, Javier's work is made even more interesting and evocative.
